Course Description

The @thletic Xpression Communication Clinic (@XCC) will prepare motorsports participants and extreme athletes to correctly and professionally participate in electronic media interviews for television and radio. It will also prepare athletes for sponsor endorsement activities such as television and radio commercials, autograph sessions, personal appearances, awards banquets and other activities falling within the responsibilities of these athletes. This training is necessary for both established and developing athletes. Today, it is more important that ever to serve both sponsors and the media better than the competition – regardless of time or place. It is critical for an athlete to define his or her competitive advantage with a resume that not only boasts performance on the track, but perhaps more importantly – off the track. This one-day, eight-hour course will teach:

·                    How to effectively handle a variety of interview styles and situations

·                    Managing non-verbal communication

·                    Understanding the distractions of television and radio technology so they don’t distract you

·                    What is expected of the interviewee – and by whom

·                    Identifying communication weaknesses and crutches – and correcting them

·                    How to deliver the perfect sound bite – and understanding what this means

·                    Not just DOs, but some very important DON’Ts of interviews

·                    How to properly receive awards and recognitions

·                    How to say thank you

·                    How to apologize

·                    A full day and long list of critical skills and drills to set students apart and increase their value

The @thletic Xpression Communication Clinic is comprised of demonstration, lecture, workbook, drill and review sessions. With heavy emphasis on audio and video feedback tools – which students take home after the program on CD-ROM†, students will identify strengths and weaknesses and develop the most important skills that a sponsor, team owner or broadcaster looks for. If one needs to prepare for public speaking or on-camera appearances as an extreme athlete or motorsports participant, this program is precisely what is needed.

With class sizes limited to only six students, individual attention is assured – and so are sell-out classes. Schedule today – and commit to the most powerful resume possible.
